LMFT-A
Marni is an Associate Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT-A) in the state of Connecticut and has been working with individuals, couples, families, and groups since 2021. Prior to entering the therapy field, she spent more than 20 years as an educator in secondary through graduate-level public and private schools. Marni also brings over 30 years of experience as a professional creative writer, editor, and tutor, and is a certified Transformational Life Coach.
While Marni is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and other evidence-based therapeutic models, her life path has shaped a deeply systemic approach to client care. Rather than viewing clients as problems to be fixed, she sees each person as the center of intersecting aspects of life that influence one another. Her work integrates CBT and DBT with systems-based and strengths-oriented approaches, including Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT).
Marni works with clients across all gender identities, sexual orientations, cultures, ethnicities, and life experiences. She specializes in supporting members of the LGBTQ+ community, Gen X clients, and individuals navigating life transitions. At the core of her work is the belief that everyone deserves to live their best life.
